Urban Herbology offers two very different ways to learn with the natural world.
The Green City Witch is a creative exploration of urban nature, traditional plant knowledge, ritual, and nature connection. It is based around 13 online sets of lessons, with optional in person events.
The Urban Herbology Apprenticeship is goes deeper into the practical study of local plants, foraging and herbal medicine, developed for people who want to build substantial knowledge and experience over a year. This course is based around ten workshops in Amsterdam, with an additional online library.
Both courses are rooted in direct experience: getting outside, paying attention to the plants around us, learning from tradition and developing the confidence to work with nature in thoughtful, practical ways.

The Green City Witch is a year-long journey through the seasons, exploring plants, animals, urban landscapes, ritual, folklore and the many ways we can create a richer relationship with the living world around us.
Created alongside my book The Green City Witch, this course is for anyone who wants to bring more nature, meaning and imagination into everyday life — whether you live in the heart of a city or simply want to see your familiar surroundings differently.
This course is 100% online, so you can take part from wherever you live. If you’re in or around Amsterdam, you can also choose to join the seasonal gatherings and Witch Clinics in person, at no extra charge.
Through the course you’ll explore the Wheel of the Year, urban nature, plant allies, ritual and magic, seasonal practices and deeper questions about belonging, change and our relationship with the more-than-human world.
The Urban Herbology Apprenticeship
A year of learning plants, together
The Urban Herbology Apprenticeship is an in-depth, face-to-face course for people who want to develop serious practical knowledge of plants and herbalism.
Based in Amsterdam, the apprenticeship combines fieldwork, plant identification, urban foraging, herbal medicine, growing, making and the observation of plants through the seasons.
Rather than trying to learn everything from books, you’ll spend a year learning directly from plants and from one another — returning to the same places throughout the seasons and gradually building the knowledge, skills and confidence to work with them safely and respectfully.
This is a small-group apprenticeship, with plenty of time for questions, observation and hands-on learning.

Choose The Green City Witch if you are drawn to seasonal living, urban nature, folklore, ritual, creativity and a deeper sense of connection with the living world.
Choose the Urban Herbology Apprenticeship if you want to become genuinely knowledgeable about plants — identifying them, understanding their uses, working with them practically and developing a strong foundation in herbalism.
And if both appeal to you, they can complement one another beautifully: one explores our relationship with the living world through imagination, ritual and seasonal practice; the other develops detailed practical knowledge of plants and herbal medicine.
